A message From Your NorthEast Presidents

NorthEast’s by-laws are set so that at NorthEast’s Executive Committee meeting in May, a nominating committee presents a slate of candidates for the offices of the NorthEast Executive Board.

Last year was unusual due to the late decision of a number of officers not to continue on the board. To provide vital experience a “bridge” slate of candidates, consisting of many past presidents, was presented to and voted in by the club delegates. Now there are going to be some vacancies for the 2012-2013 board that will not be filled by current board officers moving up.

All NorthEast square dancers are eligible to serve except for those holding the office of “Delegate” in their club. The nominating committee is looking for good square dance couples who want to give back to square dancing by serving on the NorthEast board. If you or someone you know is that couple, contact any current board member and they will pass the names on to the nominating committee.

The spring meeting is scheduled for May 20^th. Time is short and square dancing depends on you!
